Change Strategies


To date, DLI has identified OFC within the areas of education and healthcare reform for which it has formulated innovative, effective change strategies.  These change strategies are:
  • “Promotores De Salud” – Lay Health Workers
Providing education and training modules to increase the number of culturally and linguistically competent lay health workers in geographic areas of high Latino population density and need.

  • ¡Mentes Sanas… Cuerpos Sanos! - Healthy Minds… Healthy Bodies!
A curriculum and toolkit developed to be used by lay health workers in the area of childhood obesity.

  • Olympics Against Childhood Obesity
A family engagement project launched in Frederick, MD, for children ages 6-17 to address childhood obesity through a combination of preventive healthcare, information and hands-on nutrition and lifestyle lessons.
